Our History

Lagos State Senior Model College Meiran (formerly Lagos State Model College Meiran) is a state owned secondary school located in Meiran village, Alimosho Local government area of Lagos State. It is situated within the same compound as the Junior School. It was founded On February 19th 1988, along with four other model colleges under the military administration of Captain Okhai Mike Akhigbe, the then Military Governor of Lagos state. The College which was established along with four others took off at Government College, Ketu, Epe. The other four model colleges are Igbonla, Kankon, Badore and Igbokuta. From the period 1988–1992, the colleges were given necessary foundation to focus on their mission as pacesetters in academics and co-curricular endeavors. Students won laurels in programmes by the Directorate of Food Roads and Rural Infrastructure (DFRRI), the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), West African Examination Council (WAEC) and several other competitions...

The foundation principal for Meiran was Mrs. Adejinle while the vice-principal was Mr. Oduyale
Before 2003, junior and senior secondary schools in Lagos State were under single administrative control. The government through the Lagos State Ministry of Education mandated all secondary schools in the state to be partitioned into junior (JSS1-3) and senior (SS1-3). This was what led to the establishment of the Lagos State Model Junior College Meiran from Lagos State Model College Meiran (founded in 19 February 1988) on January 6, 2003.

Chairman's Address

Dear friends!

My name is Eki Oyewole Oluwafemi, 1992 set, and this year I was graciously allowed to act as LSMCM Alumni Association president for the interim period. My Key resolution is to strengthen my connections and pursue more meaningful interactions. This sentiment is well-timed due to the volatile global climate, forcing us into differing degrees of isolation. Having known that ‘as you invest in your relationships, both professional and personal, random payoffs begin materialising’.

Holding fond memories of my school days from the deep forests of Ketu Epe in February 19th 1988 to the serene Locality of Meiran Village in 1999, I always seek to maintain a connection with people from that period of my life. Other than sharing old memories, the members of the 92 set has always set the plans for growing the school’s alumni network.

As we strive to reach our career aspirations, life scatters us across different continents, disciplines, and industries, leaving no time for us to maintain the channels of communication we had in school. The Alumni network is a physical embodiment of this, allowing us to foster cross-generational ties and maintain meaningful relationships.

We hope to build a community to help better utilise your skill set, stay on top of the latest trends, keep a pulse on the job market, meet prospective mentors, partners and clients, and gain access to the necessary resources that will foster your career development and assist in the General development, image and Socio-cultural standing of our alma mater. Hopefully, this will turn into a place where we can share ideas, discuss opportunities, and create a network to manifest our full potentials.
